With the bow kite technology firmly rooted in the Crossbow and Switchblade designs, we are not limited to the amount of sweep nor flatness we can put into a kite.
In the case of a non Bow kite without the swept tips and concave trailing edge the trailing edge does not match the leading edge when flying. This creates a major disruption in the airflow over the canopy. This happens because the trailing edge takes a round shape different from the leading edge when under load. This also causes the wing tips to be sheeted in which makes the kite fly slower through the sky . Especially when flying on the upstroke.
